About Brown Fedora

The truth behind the facade

BROWN FEDORA BOOKS is a publisher of electronic books, books that are “Rebar Tough and Built to Last.”

Chet Coww is Company Chancellor and Sonny Tataglia acts as Vice-Chancellor.  Despite the guys’ light-hearted approach to the company and to life is general, they have made a real commitment to the books which sit beneath the soft brim of the Brown Fedora.  “Rebar Tough and Built to Last” is more of a mission than a slogan. With such a short and selective list, Brown Fedora could be described as being a “boutique” E-Publisher, except that the guys wouldn’t be caught dead using a word like “boutique.”

Anne “Pogo” Zenobia is the firm’s Office Manager, Director of Publicity, and occasional Designated Driver, as well as often providing a much-needed ballast of logic and common sense.

Chet likes to corroborate the apocrypha that Brown Fedora was founded as a company back in the 1950s by his grandfather, Bill Gatz, but since electronic books would not come into existence for another fifty years, Grandpa Bill had no idea what the company was for or what exactly it did.

In truth, Chet and Sonny built Brown Fedora to be a spot where readers could download books guaranteed to be worth their effort, time and electricity.  Patience and dedication paid off as technology entwined with innovation and Brown Fedora now finds itself well-positioned on the vanguard edge of internet books, e-book readers, Kindles, Windows, and things that go “blog” in the night.

Chet and Sonny are often asked how Brown Fedora can make a profit since all of their books may be downloaded for free.  Their answer is always the same: “Volume.” Their Bottom Line Business Plan is to lose less than $100 per year.
