Three Hats on the Track

Brown Fedora Books authors Louella Bryant, Geof Hewitt and Jim DeFilippi were the presenters, along with former Maine poet laureate Baron Wormser, at the seventh annual Rail City Writing Workshop, hosted by Don Tinney from June 15 to June 18. This one-of-a-kind workshop has become the touchstone of this type event in the Northeast.

iPad Supports PDFs

Since all the free downloads at Brown Fedora are in PDF form, Sonny and Chet were of course interested as to whether the new Apple Ipad supports these files. It apparently does, and very well, if you get an ap called GoodReader for the reasonable price of 99 cents. Whew!

She figures, the boys are in the E-Publishing business, maybe it's time.
She has no worry about them reading this; they rarely visit the site.

Finally: A Two Screen E Reader

For over a year now, Chet and Sonny have been lobbying for a two-screen E-Reader that looks and feels like a real book. "It's simple common sense," Chet said. "People like to hold a book in their hands, not some plastic gimmick."
Now Asus, the company that spear-headed the web-book, has announced that it will have a cheap (around $150) two-screen E-Reader on the market by early next year. "It's about flickin time," Chet said. "The big boys are finally catching up with Sonny and my ideas."
